President of Omega Fire Ministries Worldwide Apostle Johnson Suleman has appealed to Boko Haram not to kill abducted Borno pastor Bulus Yikura.

Yikura was abducted on Christmas eve last year when Boko Haram attacked Pemi village in Chibok Local Government Area of Borno State. Pemi is about 20 kilometres away from Chibok town.

Suleman pleaded with the insurgents in a tweet on Saturday night to spare Yikura’s life, adding that Christians are not the insurgents’ enemies.

He said: “I appeal to Boko haram not to kill Pastor Bulus Yikura..have mercy on him like the Abyssinian Christians had mercy on the first Muslims and saved them from the Quraysh.

“Christians are not your enemies. Plssss, let Pastor Yikura go..”

Yikura had appeared in a video last week where he appealed to the Nigerian government and the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to negotiate with Boko Haram for his release.

Kneeling in front of a masked man holding a dagger, Yikura begged for fast intervention to save his life.

The cleric, who identified himself as a worshipper at EYN LCC, said his appearance in the video was the last chance given to him to call for help.

Speaking in Hausa, Yikura said the countdown to his execution started on February 24 and ends on March 4.

CAN in a statement on Saturday by its president Rev. Samson Ayokunle appealed to President Muhammadu Buhari to intervene.
