Finally Aisha Buhari’s Brother Steps Down From Adamawa Governorship Contest
The bid by Dr. Mahmoud Halilu, the junior brother of First Lady Aisha Buhari to unseat Governor Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa State has been called off. Dr. Halilu who raised apprehension in the camp of the governor with his bid for the governorship ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC withdrew from the contest on Monday morning, reliable sources in Adamawa State confirmed to gwgng.com
There had been a whispering campaign to deny Bindow a second term ticket on the note that he is an associate of Atiku Abubakar, the former vice-president who about a year ago defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
Besides Dr. Halilu, former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has also stepped down from the contest making Bindow the only aspirant in the race.y
