Ganduje Responds To Kano Rally: Accuses PDP Supporters Of Violence
The Kano State government has accused supporters of his immediate predecessor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwanso of instigating violence and destruction during the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP rally in Kano on Sunday.
The claim was Governor Abdullahi Ganduje reaction to the successful PDP rally that has shaken permutations on how Kano would go and has allegedly put the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC under pressure.
It took the PDP candidate, Atiku Abubakar over three hours from the airport to the venue of the rally.
A government statement issued by the commissioner for Information, Youth and Culture, Malam Muhammad Garba accused members of the Kwankwanso inspired Kwankwansiya Movement of violently attacking pedestrians and posters and billboards of the APC in the hours leading to the rally.
The statement also accused the PDP supporters of attacking the son of the APC state chairman, Alhaji Abdullahi Abbas whose son was reportedly severely injured.
“Since the start of their rallies in the state capital, the Kwankwasiyya members have been freely attacking residents, including going to residences of key figures of the APC to unleash terror. If left unchecked, the trend may mar the chance of having a violence free election,’’ the statement deposed.
