Buhari Shocked Over Poll Shift
President Muhammadu Buhari was shocked by the news of the postponement his spokesman, Mallam Garba Shehu said on Saturday morning.
Speaking to reporters in Daura, Katsina State just before the president departed for Abuja, Shehu said that the president had gone to bed last night with a readiness to cast his vote on Saturday morning, but only woke up to the news of the postponement.
According to him the president had before going to bed told his domestic aides to meet him at the polling station by 8.00 a.m. on Saturday.
He disclosed that the president would not make a formal reaction on the issue until he had been properly briefed by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC later on Saturday.
That briefing is expected to follow the briefing between INEC and stakeholders holding at 2.00 p.m.
