APC Forms Alliance With Accord To Fight Wike In Rivers

The All Progressives Congress, APC has fashioned an alliance with Accord, to outsmart Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State in the forthcoming governorship election, the Accord governorship candidate Dumo Lulu-Briggs has said.

The alliance, Lulu-Brigs said on Sunday should end the rejoicing of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP over the exclusion of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The exclusion of the APC from all elections in Rivers State had excited the PDP to the possibility that the party could become infirm in the state’s political architecture.

At a press conference in Abuja on Sunday, Lulu-Brigs said:

“It remains a matter for the APC to consider if they will collapse their structures into Accord, we are not endorsing Buhari because we are expecting anything in return, but because we believe in the efficacy of our elections and the good work that the President is doing, therefore we want him to have a second term. 

“But whether the APC will collapse their structure and support the Accord, it is up to them, however, we wish they will do that, discussions should be ongoing in that regards as a matter of fact, but I can tell you that Accord as it is, is very strong in Rivers to win that election. Forget what you see on the television screen, the bigger they come, the harder they fall.

“Governor Wike is like a Goliath, but here is a David, so rest assured that we are going to win the next governorship election, and if we get the support of the APC, it will be a landslide”. 

Noting the political stature of Accord, he said:

“You remember I became the candidate of Accord for governorship under two months, and today, Accord is a household name in Rivers State. We are not just contesting the election for the Governor of the state, we are also contesting the thirteen House of Representatives seats, we are contesting the three senatorial elections, we are also contesting thirty two State House of Assembly elections”.

“If you have been following our campaign, you will know that the hype about the incumbent Governor of Rivers state is only felt out of Rivers State. Actually in Rivers state we know that he is weak, he has not delivered economically, he is weak because our security is the worst in the entire country. By statistics, if there are hundred kidnappings in Nigeria, sixty one of them takes place in Rivers state.
