Group Pushes Ndume For Senate Presidency

A pro-Buhari group, Buhari For Better Tomorrow Movement (BFBTM) has endorsed Senator Ali Ndume for the post of Senate President for the incoming National Assembly.

The group in a statement made available to this website noted that Senator Ndume meets all the requirements for Senate Presidency considering his high level of experience, network and commitment to APC and President Buhari’s overall agenda for better Nigeria.

Besides Ndume other likely contestants for the office of Senate President from the Northeast include Senate Leader, Senator Ahmad Lawan and Senator Danjuma Goje.

In a statement signed by the national publicity secretary of the group, Mr. Ibrahim Abubakar, the group said Senator Ndume will complement the vision, mission and passion of President Buhari in the Senate without compromising legislative independence.

The group further noted that Senator Ali Ndume is a thorough-bred lawmaker who will close the unnecessary gap between the executive and the legislature, saying as a ranking Senator, Senator Ndume has the knowledge, experiential capacity, integrity, track-records and versatility to lead a legislative arm of government in which internal democracy is it’s strongest asset.

The group stated that having studied the ability of all the likely contestants for the post of Senate Presidency, it settled for Senator Ali Ndume because of his ability to spearhead the rebirth of a vibrant and credible Senate that will be committed to bequeathing the values of human freedom, democracy, peace and development to all Nigerians.

“Therefore, we endorse Senator Ndume for the post of Senate Presidency for the incoming National Assembly and we humbly urge new and  returning Senators to support our call.”
