Police Arrest Suspected Kidnappers Of Father-In-Law Of Buhari’s ADC
The Police in Katsina have arrested suspects involved in the abduction of Alhaji Musa Umar, Magajin Gari, the father in law of President Muhammadu Buhari’s Aide de Camp, it was announced on Thursday.
Katsina police spokesman, Gambo Isah said the suspects were arrested after a gun duel after they were intercepted. The kidnap victim has, however, not been released as efforts were still apace to release him.
Uba was kidnapped by six men who arrived his Daura, Katsina residence on Wednesday night in a Peugeot 405 unregistered car, shooting into the air.
The kidnappers were immediately intercepted by the police commissioner CP, Sanusi Buba who arrived the scene along with some other patrol teams. A policeman was wounded in the shootout that occurred.
“Police patrol teams at Kusada Division Katsina State intercepted the hoodlums and engaged them in a gun duel and as a result of which one Inspector Muntari Maikudi attached to Kusada Division sustained a gunshot injury and was rushed to the Federal Medical Center Katsina for treatment.
“IGP Tactical Squad, SARS teams, PMF and counter-terrorism units have already been dispatched to rescue the victim alive and safely to his family,” the statement read in part.
However, no word was mentioned of the kidnap victim, Musa, who is the father of Fatima Musa, wife of Colonel Mohammed Abubakar, the ADC to President Buhari. He is a retired customs comptroller and a business mogul.
