Lagos Destroys 30 Tons Of Poisonous Ponmo

30 tons of poisonous cowhide skin popularly known as ponmo were destroyed in Lagos on Thursday by officials of the Lagos State Government.

The poisonous ponmo which had raised fear among the population were confiscated from a processing factory in the Igando area of the mega city.

The ponmo conveyed in two trucks were incinerated at the Lagos State Waste Management Authority, LAWMA Dump Site, at Ewu-Elepe in Ikorodu Local Government Area, Lagos. 

Among the officials of the Lagos State Government who witnessed the exercise were Dr. Adeyemi Micheal Chief Veterinary Officer, Sauntarian George Olumide Assistant Director Primary Health Care Board, Mrs. Hauwa Momoh-Ajibola controller landfill sites, LAWMA and the Police Public Relations Officer Deputy Superintendent of Police, Bala Elkana.
