Delta APC: 'I Know How To Spell My Name,' NDDC Chair, Onochie Dismisses Suspension Reports

President Muhammadu Buhari’s social media aide, Lauretta Onochie has given kudos to the National Broadcasting Commission, NBC over the withdrawal of the broadcasting license of DAAR Communications.

The licence first granted by General Sani Abacha in 1994 was withdrawn by the NBC on Thursday supposedly for denigrating the country among others. However, the chairman of DAAR, Dr. Raymond Dokpesi said it was a partisan action taken by the All Progressives Congress, APC card carrying director-general of the NBC, Ishaq Kawu to stifle opposition.

One of the major complaints of the NBC was the popular social media segment of the Kakaaki show where Ms. Onochie was regularly featured and sometimes to unfavourable reviews

Responding to the sanction on the broadcaster, Onochie in her twitter handle said:

“Breaking: NBC shuts down AIT, Ray Power; Nigerians must begin to speak up against those who break our laws.

“We must insist that enforcement agencies ensure consequences are meted out to those who are accustomed to impunity. That’s the way forward. Kudos NBC!”
