Okorocha Gets Senate Certificate Of Return, Thanks All

Immediate past governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has received his certificate of return as senator to represent Imo West Senatorial District. He immediately expressed his appreciation to all who stood with him on the development.

The certificate was released to him on Tuesday following a court order last Friday. The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC had dithered to issue him the certificate of return upon the claim by the returning officer of the election, Prof. Innocent Ibeabuchi that he announced Okorocha as the winner of the election under duress.

Upon that claim, INEC had resolved not to release the certificate of return to Okorocha. That was until the court order of last Friday which the commission complied with on Tuesday.

Responding to the development, Okorocha who missed the Senate inauguration earlier in the day because of the issue, said that the issue had made him popular as without the claim by Ibeabuchi that his election would not have received the kind of national and international attention it received.

He also expressed gratitude to the Judiciary for being there for those who hunger for Justice.

The former governor also thanked INEC for doing the needful.
