Delta APC Group Lauds Omo-Agege’s Emergence As DSP, Flay Oyegun
The Vanguard for Political Expediency, Delta State has lauded Senator Ovie Omo-Agege on his emergence as the Deputy President of the Senate saying that it was an appreciation of his capacity and loyalty to the party he represents.
The group in a statement issued on its behalf by Barr. Akpofure Omoniunu and Hon Omasone Erute the Chairman and Secretary respectively, also called for strong support for the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole who it claimed has been working tirelessly to reverse the rot he allegedly inherited from the Chief John Odigie-Oyegun led leadership of the ruling party.
Observing that Omo-Agege’s election was based on his capacity for hard work, the group said:
“Though he was one last Senators to the red chambers, he has left his print in the sands of time in the 8th Assembly we therefore believe that is most qualified for the position from the South-South Zone.
Blaming the crisis in the Delta State chapter of the party on Odigie-Oyegun, the group said:
“A very clear case in point is the on-going legal battel in Delta State Chapter, he hurriedly inaugurated a faction of the party into leadership without due process which was latter set aside and this single action ruined the fortunes of the party in the just concluded elections in the state.”
In calling for support for Oshiomhole, the group observed what it claimed were the democratic tendencies of the present leadership, saying:
“He allowed state chapters leadership independence in following party rules to elect state leaders and for state internal democracy to reign; the action of the National Chairman is in total agreement with international best practices of election administration; which is to entrench internal democracy in political parties.
“The party has a great work ahead of her therefore we should move into positive politicking rather then resorting to personality clash and character assassination.
“We believe that the National Chairman will build on his leadership of entrenching party internal democracy in our great party. Our advice to our party members are; those who are aggrieved should forgive and forget, those who are aspiring for party opportunities should follow party laid down procedures in their bid to get what they desire; go back to party leadership and submit yourselves to those who are in leadership and do what is required.”
