The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC on Tuesday presented what it alleged were documentary evidence to back the expulsion of the immediate past governor of the state, Alhaji Abdulaziz Yari and the deputy national chairman of the party, Senator Lawali Shuaibu.

The evidence submitted to the Otunba Niyi Adebayo led disciplinary committee according to the state publicity secretary, Mohammed Bakyasuwa show that the two men were directly caused the crisis that led to the party’s loss of all positions in the state to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

Bakyasuwa, who led other officials of the party to the APC National Secretariat to submit the evidence accused the two men of breaching Article 21(a) 2014 of the APC Constitution as amended.

He said, “We are going to prove we are not just bragging – that we mean it. We have drawn the battle line with Yari’s group.

“We have realised that the two men were behind the misfortunes of the party. We need to expel them to prepare for challenges ahead.”

The state chairman of the party, Alhaji Surjo Garba in a letter he sent through the delegation averred that Shuaibu and Yari caused the misfortune that befell the party in the state.

“By this letter and for the above reason, we the executive council of the APC in Zamfara have firmly resolved to expel Alh. Abdul-Azeez Yari and the Deputy National Chairman (North), Lawal Shuaibu, from Zamfara State.

“The attitude and the conduct of the personality have brought APC in Zamfara state to a state of disrepute and a clear flagrant disobedient to party.”

Until he stepped down from office last month, the state executive of the party was firmly in the grip of Yari.
