Army Kills Dozens Of Boko Haram Insurgents, Captures 5 Gun Trucks In Ambush
What could have become a devastating blow for the Nigerian Army in the hands of the Boko Haram terrorist group turned around into a major wreck for the group on Wednesday night.
The group had planned to infiltrate 120 Task Force Battalion in Goniri, Yobe State with seven gun trucks and several other fighters on motorcycles.
The army on sighting them had tactically withdrawn to allow them to come nearer and prepared an ambush for the insurgents.
A statement by the acting director of army public relations, Col. Sagir Musa said that at the end of the battle dozens of insurgents were killed, five of the gun trucks were captured alongside assorted quantity ammunition while several motor-cycles were destroyed.
The chief of army staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Buratai who army spokesman said was in the operation area commended the troops for their effort.
