BREAKING: S/Court Returns Oyetola As Osun Gov
Governor Gboyega Oyetola was on Friday morning returned as the governor of Osun State by the Supreme Court as it dismissed the appeal launched by Senator Isiaka Adeleke of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
The Supreme Court judgment was supported by five of the seven justices with two dissenting.
The court relied on the technical ground that the absence of the judge who read the lead judgment at the tribunal during the hearings made the judgment delivered a nullity.
In the lead judgment on Friday delivered by Supreme Court jurist, Justice Bode Rhodes-Vivour, it was submitted that what should have been done was to start the case afresh.
The Court of Appeal had similarly returned Governor Oyetola on the same technical grounds.
