Cabal Fight Stalemated As Buhari Reappoints Kyari, Personal Staff

The battle for supremacy among supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari has reached a stalemate as the president on Friday retained most of his personal staff led by Chief of Staff, Mallam Abba Kyari.

The president has also retained Mr. Boss Mustapha as the Secretary to the Government of Federation, SGF.

The appointments alongside those of eleven personal staff were made in a statement issued by Senior Special Assistant to the President, (Media and Publicity), Mallam Garba Shehu.

The president said in the announcement that the appointments are with effect from May 29, 2019.

The appointments came in the wake of the threat of a court action by the Coalition of United Political Parties, CUPP for Mustapha and Kyari to stop performing in their offices without formal appointment by the president.

Last week different factions of the APC had carried placards demanding the removal of Kyari and retaining him.

The full list of the other appointments made by the president are as follow:

Mohammed Sarki Abba – Senior Special Assistant to the President (Household and Social Events), Ya’u Shehu Darazo – Senior Special Assistant to the President (Special Duties)

Dr Suhayb Sanusi Rafindadi – Personal Physician to the President, Amb. Lawal A. Kazaure – State Chief of Protocol, Sabiu Yusuf – Special Assistant (Office of the President), Saley Yuguda – Special Assistant (House Keeping)

Others are, Ahmed Muhammed Mayo – Special Assistant (Finance & Administration), Mohammed Hamisu Sani – Special Assistant (Special Duties), Friday Bethel – Personal Assistant (General Duties), Sunday Aghaeze – Personal Assistant (State Photographer) and Bayo Omoboriowo – Personal Assistant (Presidential Photographer)
