The Christian Association of Nigeria(CAN) appeared to be split on the approach to the rape allegations raised agaisnt Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, the founder of COZA, as it on Tuesday distanced itself from the visit of  its North Central leaders to the COZA congregation last Sunday.

The national body of the umbrealla Christian body said that the investigative panel looking into the allegations leveled against the COZA founder was yet to submit a report.

CAN leaders in the North Central region led by its Chairman, Rev. Israel Akanji, pay a solidarity visit to  COZA church in Abuja, to offer words of encouragement and support to its  embattled Senior Pastor, Biodun Fatoyinbo, following the rape accusation  by Busola Dakolo, wife of popular artiste, Timi Dakolo.
CAN, in a statement, signed by its National Director of Legal and Public Affairs, Evangelist Barrister Kwamkur Samuel Vondip, Tuesday, noted that the pastors visited on their own volition, stressing that the investigative panel had been set up by Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, to ascertain the rape allegation levelled against Pastor Fatoyinbo.

Part of the statement reads: “Those who did so did it on their own. We stand by our earlier release on this issue that while we would never support any act of immorality from whatever quarter.
“We can tell you PFN has constituted a panel investigating the matter, and in less than two weeks, the outcome of the investigation will come out.
“We urge all Christian brothers and sisters to know that this is the position of CAN.
“We would not spare anyone found wanting from facing appropriate disciplinary actions.”
