By Rufus Ike.
In an Instagram post shared by Otto Orondaam, an unidentified man was seen moving around the wings of an aircraft about to take off at the Lagos Airport on Friday morning.
The video, in two short parts showed a man, in a polo shirt, jeans pants and sneakers hovering around the wing of the airline. In the pandemonium, passengers on the airline were seen to be worried, while some prayer others were pacing up and down.
According to him “for 30 minutes we have been stuck at the runway at MMIA by an unidentified man who ran to the aircraft with a bag. Security has not showed up and everyone is panicking. I have so many questions to ask but right now I can’t even breathe. Pls share this to all relevant authorities.”
37 minutes after the first post, he gave an update, saying they were disembarked from the airline as well revealing Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) agents arrived 23 minutes into the confusion but were too scared to approach the unidentifiable man.
“He has finally been apprehended and we’ve all disembarked from the flight. FAAN authorities showed up 23 minutes into the scene but were too scared to approach him.
“Security eventually showed up after 37 minutes” he added.
He then went on to narrate the ordeal and how the occupants in the airline and pilots were able to handle the situation.
“So our flight was taxing on the runway and about taking off when this man shows up running towards us from the bush. The pilot and some passengers spotted him and the pilot immediately slowed down and put off the engine.
“The guy approaches the plane with gloves and starts walking around and under the plane with a bag which he dropped inside the engine.”
Finally, he thanked the pilot “thanks to the pilot of the Azman airline for quickly observing and taking swift actions.
“I still have a million and one questions to ask because this could have gone wrong .”
With enthusiasm he ended “Nigeria will work perfectly someday. This I know!”
No official statements from FAAN officials or Azman airline yet.
