Zamfara: APC Reaches Dead End In S/Court
By Ayodele Oluwafemi
The Supreme Court has rejected the request of the All Progressive Congress, APC for a review of the judgement that disallowed the party and its candidates from participating in the last General Election in Zamfara State.
The apex court had in its judgement voided the candidates of the party from participating in the State Assembly and Governorship elections, over the party’s inability to conduct primary elections before the stipulated time.

The party had recently pleaded with the apex court to review the judgment, a plea that was turned down on Monday.
In a unanimous ruling by the Supreme Court’s five-member panel led by Justice Bode Rhodes-Vivour, it struck out the application marked: SC/377/2019 filed by the APC.
The Supreme Court rejected the pleas of the lawyer of the APC, Robert Clarke (SAN), for it to review its earlier judgement on the issue.
The judgement declared that the political party that scored the second highest number of votes other than the APC in the elections should be declared winner of the polls.
