Omo-Agege Ogboru laughing-stock

The All Progressives Congress, APC in Delta State has constituted a high-powered committee to resolve bickering arising from the claim that the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege caused Chief Great Ogboru’s name to be removed from consideration as a minister.

Reacting to what it claimed was a publication by Noble Ogboru that Omo-Agege caused Great Ogboru’s name to be dropped from consideration, the party in a statement made available to GreenWhiteGreen said there was no such thing like that. Moreover, the party said the nominee from the state, Festus Keyamo was fit and qualified enough to have emerged as a nominee on merit.

The party in a statement by Mr. Nick Ovuakporie, Director of Communications APC Delta State, described the  unfortunate publication authored by Noble Ogboru who it claimed tried to disparage the reputation of the Deputy Senate President by falsely accusing him of being responsible for the removal of the name of Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru from the ministerial list.

The party condemned the entire publication as that laced with falsehood and another attempt by those it described as “the enemies of the party to ignite a political crisis having realized that peace has eventually be achieved in the party through the victories recorded in various courts across Nigeria.

“The party is at crossroads as to finding worthy response to the barefaced allegations made by Noble Ogboru whose actions it described as uncharitable and that meant to fan the embers of disunity.”

In questioning the claim, the party asked who saw a list where Ogboru’s name was saying “if yes, the party urge the author to publish the page and number Chief Great Ovedje Ogboru’s name was listed amongst other nominees before the alleged removal.”

“The party wishes to stress that it holds it’s leaders particularly the Deputy Senate President, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege in very high esteem and will not condone any action that is intended to bring his name and office to disrepute by any group of persons no matter how highly placed.

“The party quite recalls the emphasis made by President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR on the calibre of those who will make his next level cabinet. Without mincing words, the President reiterated at various fora, that he will only appoint those he knew personally as ministers of the yet to be constituted Federal Executive Council (FEC).

“The party further wish to place on record, that Barrister Festus Keyamo appointment having recourse to the fact that President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR knows him personally and professionally sound and fit for the position, did not come to it as a surprise because he was appointed strictly on merit.

“The Party has set up a high powered committee to meet with leaders with a view of resolving and putting an end to all needless rancour. To this end, the Party advises all those spreading falsehood to immediately desist from such malicious and wicked concoction of lies that is capable of destroying the unity being currently enjoyed by the party leaders in the State.”
