Delta: Ogboru Will Be Governor Within 180 Days – Omo-Agege

DEPUTY President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has urged members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State to remain hopeful that the party will 180 days claim the governorship of the state at the end of the ongoing arbitration at the election tribunal.

Senator Omo-Agege, who is the Senator representing Delta Central Senatorial district in the National Assembly, made the disclosure in his country home in Orhomurho-Orogun, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State.

Omo-Agege while addressing some of his constituents who visited him, appealed to the APC chairman in Delta North and South senatorial district to deliver the party in ensuring that APC produces the next senators in the districts, said: “By the grace of God within the next 180 days, Chief Great Ogboru will be sworn in as governor of Delta state.”

Speaking further, he said: “The elections were very tough but at all times I had confidence in our people.

“You all know how I got this position. It is the biggest position that has come to the entire South-South in the National Assembly since 1999. All of this is possible because of our president. The odds were enormous but our president put his foot down.

 “All of the governors of APC extraction acting on the instruction of the president also put their foot down and put everything at their disposal to see to it that I am elected. Also 67 of my colleagues decided that they will tow the path of President Buhari and the governors. They decided that I can add value of governance to the 9^th senate and casted their vote for me.

“Today I assure president Buhari that in my position and capacity as the Deputy President of the Senate, working with the president of the senate, Senator Ahmed Lawan, the least we owe the president is to create an enabling environment so that the content of that Next Level agenda that all of us campaigned on will be brought to reality.

 “The days where they turned the floor of the senate to a burial ground for anything presented by Muhammadu Buhari, threatening him with impeachment and wishing him dead are over because he has Ahmed Lawan, as Senator President and your son as Deputy President of the Senate. Now President Muhammadu Buhari sleeps with two eyes closed.

 “But you people made it possible because if you had not voted for me as a senator, there is no chance that he would have had me to support for Deputy President of the Senate. I told you people that the President loves the Urhobo nation and that if we vote for him, we will benefit. The president has shown his love by giving us a minister in the person of Festus Keyamo.     

 “But one thing is sure; I promise that I will not let you down. All of the promises I made during campaigns; I remember. It can only get better just trust me, just support me. You have done your part all that we ask of you now is prayer.

“Continue to support and pray for the president, APC governors and I. I thank and pray for all Deltans irrespective of their political affiliations but not for the PDP governors because we plan to remove them and take over.”
