DSS Set To Free El-Zakzaky
The Department of
State Services, DSS has pledged to honour the latest court order to it for the release
of the founder of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, IMN, Sheik Ibrahim El-Rufai-Zakzaky.
A statement
issued by Dr Peter Afunanya, spokesman of the DSS said that the agency was
already liaising with stakeholders towards giving vent to the bail granted El-Rufai-Zakzaky.
The Islamic leader
had been given bail in the past but was not released by the DSS.
In a statement late on Monday, the DSS said:
“This is to
inform the public that the Department of State Services (DSS) has received the
order granting Ibrahim EL-ZAKZAKY leave to travel to India for medical treatment.
Consequently, the Service is liaising with relevant stakeholders to ensure
compliance. Conformity with the order is in line with the Service’s avowed
commitment to the Rule of Law inherent in a democracy.”
