Worrying About Your Hubby’s Affairs Will Kill You, Florence Ajimobi Warns Women

Immediate past First Lady of Oyo State, Mrs. Florence Ajimobi has given strong advice to women against being at odds with their hubbies even in their indiscretions, admonishing that their love will bring out the best in their men.

Mrs. Ajimobi who strongly rebuffed insinuations that her husband was a controversial person also put him forth as the most romantic man ever.

Mrs. Ajimobi’s husband, Senator Abiola Ajimobi was governor of Oyo State between 2011 and 2019 and became the first governor of Oyo State to serve two full terms in office.

While noting her husband’s political ascendancy, she also addressed controversies around him including the sobriquet of “Constituted Authority,” and his failure to win a Senate seat. He simply dismissed all such with the assertion that the husband was largely misunderstood by his critics.

“My husband is not controversial, he is misunderstood. He won election in 2007 but he was denied, he won election in 2011 won again in 2015, so what are you talking about?”

Mrs. Ajimobi spoke on the set of Your View, the popular TVC morning show.

Asked how romantic the husband is, she said:
“No man can beat him. Every Valentine Day (she smiled) he sets up in the house, eating for two, roses,” she said with fondness.

“He is not from that background but he knows that that is what is going to make me happy and he wants to make me happy.

“You know why he wants to make me happy? I am his best friend. Even though there is anybody that is claiming hold on the man, is just a friend, I am the best friend. Number One any day. I am the only friend, the only mother, the only sister!”

Telling the ladies to turn deaf to the acceptable indiscretions of their men, she said:

“That is what has worked for me, it has given me fulfilment. You choose to live the life you want to live. If you choose to live a miserable life, if you want to make your husband feel he is a cheat, so will he be.

“But if I want to let my husband know that no matter what you do you are Ajimobi. So I tell him no matter what you do it is from here to my grave…

“You know sometimes men say if you are not happy you can go, no I say from here to my grave. This is space for me I am not going anywhere.”

Asked on her beauty regime, the former First Lady said:

“I walk every morning with my husband, even as governor. That is my beauty regime, we chat, we hold hands.

Reiterating the advice on keeping the peace and submission, she said:
“If you catch your husband doing something, you will pretend as if nothing happened. He is not a mad man, with time they will change. Your attitude will change them. He is not your child. Biola cannot be Florence, Florence can never be Biola.

“He is the head I must give him that respect. My love will bring out the best in him. Please ladies, give it to them even when they do something wrong!”
