Buhari Announces Obono-Obla’s Dismissal On Twitter

Mr. Okoi Obono-Obla has been suspended from office as chairman of the Special Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property, President Muhammadu Buhari has directed.
The suspension was despite claims by the embattled Obono-Obla that corrupt politicians in the present government and in the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP were collaborating to send him out of office.
Okoi-Obla had been accused of some wrongdoings and notably of forging the secondary school certificate he used in entering the University of Jos.
Announcing the suspension on his twitter handle, Buhari said:
“President Buhari has directed the suspension from office, with immediate effect, of the Chairman of the Special Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property, Mr Okoi Obono-Obla.
“The suspension shall be in effect until the conclusion of ongoing @ICPC_PE investigations into a number of cases relating to Mr. Obono-Obla.”
