EFCC Operatives In Ambode’s Epe Home

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC on Tuesday morning raided the Epe, Lagos residence of former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.

EFCC spokesman Tony Orilade who confirmed the raid to Channels Television said the search of the house was part of an ongoing investigation of corruption allegations levelled against the former governor of the state.

Mr. Ambode according to sources was not in the residence as at the time of the raid.

Besides his residence, that of his former chief of staff was also raided GreenWhiteGreen learnt.

The EFCC had recently frozen bank accounts belonging to the state in which an estimated N9 billion it claimed were laundered as part of the investigations against the former Lagos State governor.

His fortunes were also not helped by the snub he was given after he was not named in the ministerial list despite his assertions of loyalty to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC after he was overwhelmed in the party primaries.
