The National Youth Service Corps in Taraba State has handed over three young men who came to the Batch B camp with fake certificates to the police for prosecution.

The men could neither articulate or make sense of the degrees they claimed to have earned from the university.

The NYSC State Coordinator of Taraba, Mrs Florence Yaakugh, who disclosed this on Friday, said the fake students were apprehended during the screening exercise.

The suspects now sweating in the hands of the police include Shehu Murktar who claimed to be a graduate of Computer Science, Nasiru Yau – Mass Communication, and Illiyasu Usman- Sociology, all claimed to have graduated from Isfop University of Cotonou in Republic of Benin.

Commenting on the development, Yaakugha said “They came for registration and the verification officer discovered them with fake certificates and verification papers.

“If you will recall, the Director-General of NYSC Brig.-Gen. Shauibu Ibrahim recently expressed deep concern over the activities of fake corps members who cannot make a correct sentence in English language.

“He directed us to check and fish out such persons and hand them over to the security operatives for further investigation and this is what we are just doing.”

Another case involving a female according to Yaakugh is still under investigation.
