How Pothole Caused Accident That Took 14 Lives

No fewer than fourteen persons have reportedly lost their lives in a fatal motor accident at Garin-Galla village in Ringim Local Government Area of Jigawa State. The accident was reportedly triggered by a pothole.

GreenWhiteGreen learnt that the victims were travelling along Kano-Gumel road,  when a head collision occurred between two commercial vehicles travelling along opposite directions.

GreenWhiteGreen gathered that the vehicle heading to Kano caught fire during the collision, as four passengers and the driver were burnt by the inferno, while in the other vehicle containing nine passengers, six died on the spot while the rest  were rushed to Ringim General Hospital  but later confirmed died.

According to an eyewitness, the  accident occurred, on Saturday when the tyre of one vehicle burst after running into a pothole and rammed into other moving vehicles.

He noted that some of those burnt by the resulting fire were buried near the scene of the accident while others were taken to Ringim General Hospital.
