Youths Attack Born-Again Monarch, Olori In Ondo Over New Yam Festival Impasse

There was pandemonium in Ilara Mokin community in Ifedore Local Government Area, Ondo State, on Friday, as angry youths laid seige to their monarch’s palace over his refusal to participate in the New Yam festival.

It was gathered that the traditional ruler, Alara of Ilara-Mokin, Oba Aderemi Adefehinti refused to participate in the festival over his alleged stance of being born-again.

As result of this, the angry youths were infuriated, which made them attack the monarch’s palace for neglecting his royal duties,  on Friday evening.

It was learnt that the angry youths attacked the monarch’s wife, Olori Adefehinti and inflicted on her injuries. It was said that  the monarch escaped through the exit door behind the palace.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state  Femi Joseph confirmed the incident, noting  that the situation was now under control.
