Baby Factory Operator Flees As Lagos Police Rescue 19 Girls, Day-Old-Baby

The police in Lagos have uncovered a baby factory in the heart of the Ikotun area of the state.

19 pregnant girls and a day-old-baby were among those rescued from the factory that lures young girls to the detention facility with the promise of aiding them get jobs.

The operator of the baby factory who was generally called Madam Oluchi has fled but some of her aides were apprehended. Among those apprehended were care givers, a nurse and the operator of a nearby hotel where the girls were lodged before delivery.

The girls were discovered to be between 13 and 28 and many of them were in various stages of pregnancy.

One of the victims, Florence John said that they were lured with the promise of jobs but that once they arrived they were cut off from the public and their phones confiscated.

Another victim Hope Bright from Rivers State narrated her chilling story of how her two year old child she came with was taken away from and the baby she had was said to have died after delivery.

 “As I reached there, the woman checked me. Suddenly, my stomach started kicking me. From there, they said that I will born.

“They took me to the hospital, God helped me I delivered that child, but the baby died,” she said.

When asked where the baby is, Bright who broke down in tears said: “They collected the baby from me, I did not see that child again.”
