Okowa Aide Urges Urhobo To Rally Towards Ibori For Direction
…Urges Urhobo Youth To Emulate Delta North, South Contemporaries In Respecting Their Leaders.
Executive Assistant to the Governor of Delta State on Communications, Dr. Fred Latimore Oghenesivbe, has stressed the need for the good people of Delta Central Senatorial District to absolutely submit themselves to the enviable and result oriented political leadership of the former governor of Delta State, Chief James Onanefe Ibori.
Oghenesivbe in a statement said the advise has become necessary so that no body is mislead and misguided as far as the political leadership of Urhobo nation is concerned, adding that the 2023 Urhobo Governorship project shall be baby nursed and implemented to fruition by Chief Ibori and his college of leaders in the three Senatorial districts.
The EA Communications to Gov Okowa further asserted that only political meetings held at the instance or directive of Chief Ibori can be relied upon and deemed to be sacrosanct and or binding on all sons and daughters of Urhobo nation, adding that the leadership of Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) is apolitical and cannot therefore act as the political decision making body for Urhobo Ethnic Nationality.
“UPU is Urhobo nation’s sociocultural umbrella worldwide while the political think-tank for Urhobo nation resides in the college of Urhobo political leaders under the leadership and control of Chief James Onanefe Ibori.
“No right thinking Urhobo son or daughter will ignore the political sagacity and craftmanship of Chief Ibori which is why we have collectively anointed him to be our political torchbearer for the upliftment and development of Urhobo Nation and Delta State in general.”
Oghenesivbe advised Urhobo Youth in politics and media to henceforth respect and work with leaders in Delta Central Senatorial District so as to always project Urhobo image in positive light.
He said time is ripe for a paradigm shift from disrespecting and using derogatory statements on some political leaders, to responsible and decent criticisms that does not paint the Urhobo Nation as a people divided and uncoordinated.
He noted that some youth via the social media have been castigating some of our leaders over what they described as actions and inactions in governance, adding that such open derogatory statements tends to further expose Urhobo ethnic nationality as a people divided against themselves, a development that must be discouraged for the interest and benefit of our people in the realm of politics and governance.
He advised Urhobo Youth in politics to shine their eyes and to always read the body language of their political leaders before acting; otherwise such open criticisms and derogatory publications against certain persons may prolong their journey to political relevance and leadership promise land.
“I strongly recommend that Urhobo Youth should emulate their peers in Delta North and Delta South Senatorial Districts; who are always protective of their political leaders no matter their leadership mistakes.
“Unity in diversity is key in negotiating political power and dividends of democracy, not outright condonation, abuses and insults.
“Grievances must be channeled through the leadership structures and if you must write, such piece must of a necessity come to the public domain in form of codified advise and in subtle manner, and must never paint Urhobo nation in bad light before our brothers and sisters in the North and South of the State.
