Kogi: PDP Will Win Despite Our Problems – Abubakar Ibrahim

Despite his shocking defeat in the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP primary and the ongoing arbitration in the courts, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim, has said that the party will still defeat Governor Yahaya Bello in the main election in November.

Ibrahim’s assertion perhaps was underpinned by his expectation that he would win the court case and be the party’s candidate in the main election.

Ibrahim in a statement issued ahead of the court hearing in Lokoja on Monday said:

“Today, Monday, October 7th 2019, we will be in court in continuation of our case in a bid to reclaim our mandate.

“Come November 16th 2019 Kogi State Governorship election, PDP remains the Party to beat. As a Party we will emerge victorious, inspite of our present challenges, which are of course part of every democratic setting, ours not an exception.”

At the court hearing on Monday, parties to the case frontloaded their submissions at the Lokoja High Court in anticipation of a quick resolution over the candidacy of the party.
