Kidnappers Release Judge
Justice Abdul Dogo of the Federal High Court who was kidnapped five days ago has been released. He was released in the early hours of Saturday reportedly after the payment of an unknown amount as ransom to the kidnappers.
The judge was kidnapped while returning from Abuja to Akure. He was abducted at the border town between Ondo and Edo State reportedly in the Edo State section of the border.
The release of the judge has been welcomed by Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State who in a statement expressed fears that the kidnap had “undoubtedly heightened fears and almost created uncertainty. But the early measures deployed by the Police, DSSÂ and the Army on the heels of the ugly incident further rekindled hopes and confidence.Â
