Edo APC Suspends Oshiomhole’s Ally, Threatens Recall From House Of Assembly
Affirming that he had lost their support and betrayed their confidence All Progressives Congress, APC members in Ovia North-East State Constituency 2 have suspended and launched a move to recall their member representing them in the Edo State House of Assembly, Mr. Vincent Uwadia.
Mr. Uwadia is among the 14 members elected to the State House of Assembly aligned with the national chairman of the party, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole who have refused to take up seats in the legislative house.
The constituents in Ward 2 of the constituency at a meeting resolved to communicate the state executive of the party of their intention to recall Uwadia for among others, refusing to honour their call for a meeting and absenting himself from his legislative duties.
The move against Uwadia they said was upon what they claimed as the need to ensure effective representation for the constituency in the face of what they alleged as his failure to provide such.
The communique signed by Jester Edoseghe, the chairman of the party in Okada East Ward 2 and 25 other members of his executive it was observed that Uwadia had persistently failed to honour meetings despite being put on notice by the Commissioner for local government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Monday Osaigbovo who “was mandated to call Mr. Vincent Uwadia on phone to remind him of the meeting, but he refused to honour the invitation.
“His refusal is an expression of intolerance that are contradictory to the values that define the people of Ovia North east local government and Okada East in particular.”
The party members said that in the face of his alleged failure to honour their pleas that there “is now an urgent need to ensure adequate representation for all seven wards of of Ovia North East Constituency 2 to ensure equitable development along with others”.
