Okorocha Says Gulak Not Worth $1,000 Bribe

Senator Rochas Okorocha has frontally responded to the $2 million  bribe allegation raised against him by Alhaji Ahmed Gulak saying that the former presidential political adviser would rush at a $1,000 bribe offer.

Affirming that he did not have any reason to offer bribe to Gulak as the All Progressives Congress, APC party structure was with him, Okorocha said Gulak came to act a script to destroy the Imo State chapter of the APC.

Okorocha said his assertion was driven by the fact that Gulak defected to the APC from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP a month before he was given the job further observing that the former presidential aide had the PDP spirit boiling in him at the time.

In his response articulated by his media aide, Sam Onwuemeodo, Okorocha said:

“A man like Gulak could even accept One Thousand Dollars’ bribe. Giving him anything more than that would mean over pricing him or over estimating his worth.”

“He does not even worth being paid in dollars. So, his whole story is an afterthought because he has not slept well since that period. He murdered sleep and has remained awake. In other words, his latest claim is just to ease the tension his action has generated in him, since then.

“He won’t have rest until he does an open Confession for the Political Crime he committed in Imo. He cannot be a model. And he has nothing to offer to the nation’s democracy. Both history and posterity have returned unfavourable verdicts against him and he cannot help the situation.”

 “Gulak waited till more than a year after the ugly incident to come up with his fictitious Claim of two million Dollars’ bribe. And after he had claimed that he fled Owerri over kidnap attempt. In fact, fraudsters are known for speaking from both sides of their mouths. So, Gulak is acting true to type.  

“The truth is that Alhaji Gulak was sent to Owerri to ensure the destruction of APC in Imo and by extension, in the South-East. And he achieved that purpose to a large extent.

“Otherwise, he would not have been, ab initio, sent for such a sensitive task, knowing his porous character and one month after he had left the PDP for APC. He came to Imo with a bad Script and he acted his part, with the PDP spirit still alive in him.  

“Under normal scenario too, Gulak should have by now been serving deserving Jail terms because what he did in Imo was sabotage against the nation and her democracy. He should have been arrested, put on trial and jailed, to serve as a lesson to elements like him.

“The question is even, why would Okorocha bribe anybody over APC affair or business in Imo? He built APC in Imo from the scratch. He has the structure. And also played a leading role in the existence of APC in the South-East. So who was his Contender in the leadership of APC in Imo then and even now, to warrant anybody contemplating of him offering bribe to anybody and moreover, a character like Gulak over APC primary?”
