Orbih Speaks On Reconciling Oshiomhole And Obaseki
By Emmanuel Aziken
The chairman of the Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has spoken of behind the scenes efforts being made to resolve the crisis between Governor Godwin Obaseki and his erstwhile benefactor and predecessor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
Orbih in a telephone interview told GreenWhiteGreen that third parties interested in resolving the crisis had approached him to play a mediatory role between the two men who incidentally worked together against him and his party three years ago.
“When two elephants it is the grass that suffers and in this case the people of Edo State are the ones suffering from the fight between Obaseki and Oshiomhole as governance has been taken to the backseat,” Orbih said.
“Yes, I have been approached by third parties and I am ready to intervene to seat the two men together to discuss. What we are waiting for now is date and time as the venue is going to be my residence,” Orbih further intoned.
Orbih’s intervention even while surprising will not be totally shocking for those who have known him for long given the once-close relationship between his family and Oshiomhole’s in their younger years when they exchanged family visits until politics set them apart.
