Osinbajo’s Aides Confused After Withdrawal Of Villa Access Tags
Access tags into the Presidential Villa held by some aides of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo were withdrawn on Wednesday Daily Sun has reported.
Even more, the aides are confused about the development with the vice-president’s spokesman Laolu Akande becoming inaccessible after initially denying the rife rumours of the withdrawal.
Daily Sun citing authoritative sources reports that the affected aides were also handed their termination letters on Wednesday.
“Some of the aides were said to have been approached at the gate by security personnel who seized their tags once they confirmed that their names were contained in the list of sacked aides apparently provided for them,” the paper reported on Thursday.
Other aides were said to have left their offices on their own to avoid being embarrassed.
The affected aides, who were issued appointment letters in August, included some Senior Special Assistants, Special Assistants, Personal Assistants and Technical Assistants.
Mr. Akande, according to the paper had promised to get back after initially saying: “I read it just like others. I will like to find out what is happening.”
Reports about discord between the president and the vice-president surfaced after the second term inauguration following progressive reduction in the work of the vice-president with the shift of some of his workload to some Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
