Deaths As Tanker Explodes In Otta

A number of deaths are reported to have occurred on Friday morning when a fully loaded petroleum tanker turned on its side and burst into flame near the Old Toll Gate, Otta in Ogun State.

The incident happened also not too far from Shoprite in the commercial town.

Eye witness account disclosed that the incident happened just before dawn at about 5.15 a.m. when the tanker turned on its side and exploded.

The resulting fire was said to have also engulfed some other vehicles that were near it.

The explosion is said to have caused much traffic and the authorities have advised motorists to use alternative roads.
