Adoke In Legal Limbo After Dubai Arrest

Mohammed Adoke, the immediate past Attorney-General of the Federation is waiting in legal limbo in Dubai, UAE as the authorities there resolve the issue of the validity of his arrest effected by INTERPOL on November 11.

He was arrested following the presentation of an arrest warrant obtained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC. est.

The arrest was upon issues arising from the controversial sale of oil block, OPL 245 to Malabu Oil in which the former minister was allegedly indicted.

However, Adoke’s lawyers had vacated the order through another court presided over by Justice D. Z. Senchi. The court had on October 25, 2019, declaring it “null and void and of no effect whatsoever.”

It was learnt that the Dubai authorities are presently waiting for the second court order from Adoke’s lawyers to determine his fate.
