Gov’s Aide Dismisses Claim, Says Bello Ordered For Her Protection

The Social Democratic Party, SDP governorship candidate in Kogi State, Natasha Akpoti has petitioned President Muhammadu Buhari, foreign embassies, human rights organisations and prominent Nigerians over an alleged order from Governor Yahaya Bello for her assassination.

On her twitter page on Monday morning, she posted under Red Alert, she said:

“Gov Yahaya Bello of Kogi st has ordered for my assassination.”

A senior aide of Governor Bello immediately responded telling GreenWhiteGreen that to the contrary that the governor gave a specific order for her protection during the campaigns and the election.

Among those she tagged were the police, the European Union mission in Nigeria, Human Rights Watch, US Embassy, UK High Commission in Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and the All Progressives Congress.

Also tagged were the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dele Momodu, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Oby Ezekwesili among others.

Her assertion was, however, rebuffed by a senior aide of the governor who said:
“You see, the governor has warned us about this woman. He gave specific instructions for her to be protected so I don’t know what she is saying.”
