Ondo 2020: PDP Strategizes Ahead Of Poll
The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ondo State is leaving no stone unturned in its determination to return to power in 2020.
Consequently, the party is taking the advantage of the wrangling in the APC to fortify its fold a head of the governorship election which may hold in the last quarter of 2020..
Already, about 17l chieftains of the party have declared interest to contest for the governorship election in the state.
They include Dr. Eddy Olafeso, who is the National Vice Chairman (Southwest), and former Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Mobilisation under Agagu.
Jegede, a former Commissioner for Justice under Mimiko, was the 2016 PDP governorship candidate. He lost to Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
Last week, Olafeso declared his intention in Lagos, while Jegede has begun consultations with his supporters.
While the APC may consider zoning, PDP, in order to give equal opportunity to all aspirants may not adopt zoning formula.
Presently, PDP has two senators in the state with whose support the party can dislodge the ruling APC in the next election.
