Senate defers Passage Of 2020 Budget To Next Week
The Senate has failed to pass the 2020 budget this week as expected due to the inability of the committee on appropriation to complete their assignment on the appropriation.
The Chairman Senate Committee on Appropriation, Barau Jibrin, told the Senate on Tuesday that the report is not ready.
He asked the Senate for one more week to enable the committee to complete the report and lay it on Tuesday December 3 alongside the details.
Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, approved the request and said that the report of the budget must be laid “unfailingly” by the committee next Tuesday so that the Senate can consider and pass it next week.
