Edo: PDP Dares Obaseki To Speak Up On Oshiomhole’s Debts
The chairman of the Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Dan Orbih has charged Governor Godwin Obaseki to speak up on what he asserts as the heavy debt burden left behind for him by his predecessor, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole.
Orbih in a statement made available to GWG also dismissed the claim by Oshiomhole, the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC that his party is finally at the point of sending the PDP to permanent sleep in Edo State.
Oshiomhole had last Friday asserted that the PDP in Edo State was dead with those that had been lifting the party dead in the state.
But responding on Sunday, Orbih taunted Oshiomhole over the PDP’s victory over the APC in the presidential and National Assembly elections saying it was unbecoming for the national chairman of a party to so lose his state.
Orbih said:
“face your obvious challenges, we have what it takes to finally put APC to sleep in EDO State,” Orbih said.
“We are shocked at Oshiomole’s reckless statement. He should be reminded as National Chairman of a ruling party, he lost EDO state woefully to PDP and PDP won two out of the 3 senators.
“We have observed with dismay the debt profile he left behind for Obaseki. To Godwin Obaseki, it is time to speak up. Oshiomole left a prostrate financial legacy of debts and empty treasury. I declare that EDO APC cannot win an election in EDO again,” Orbih said.
