Court Remands Adoke In EFCC Custody

Erstwhile Attorney General of the Federation, AGF Mr. Mohammed Adoke is to be remanded in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC for 14 days pending the conclusion of investigation of allegations leveled against him an Abuja High Court ruled on Friday.

Adoke returned to the country on Thursday from Dubai where he was being held by the International Police Organisation (INTERPOL) and immediately taken into custody for his alleged involvement in the granting of the Oil Prospecting License (OPL) 245 to Shell and ENI.

An FCT vacation judge Justice Othman Musa gave the order upon the prayers of the EFCC’s counsel, Fatima Mustapha, to further detain the immediate past AGF for 14 days to enable it to conclude its investigations.
