Foiled Abuja Bank Robbery: First Bank Thanks Security Agencies

First Bank of Nigeria has lauded what it Saturday described the doggedness and commitment of the country’s security agencies in foiling the armed robbery attack on its Mpape, Abuja branch earlier on Saturday.

The bank in a statement issued by Folake Ani-Mumuney, Group Head, Marketing & Corporate Communications also reassured that neither customers nor staff was hurt during the armed attack and the subsequent rescue by the security agencies.

Four of the attackers were apprehended and one was shot dead during the rescue attempt by the security agencies according to a statement issued by the police authorities in Abuja.

The First Bank statement read thus:
“We wish to inform everyone that the attempted robbery incident that happened at one of our branches in Abuja has been foiled; customers and staff are unhurt; and the suspects have been apprehended. 

“The immediate response by the police and military is very commendable and we truly appreciate them for their doggedness and commitment.”
