Umahi Confirms APC Leaning, Says He Is Only One Permitted To Do Anti-Party

Dave Umahi has claimed dual membership of the two major political parties in Nigeria, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and the All Progressives Congress, APC telling PDP supporters he is the only one who permitted to do anti-party activities.

The Ebonyi State governor who is also chairman of the Southeast PDP Governors’ Forum made this known while receiving people of Ishielu and Onicha Local Government Areas, over the weekend, at the state government house in Abakaliki.

He charged the PDP members in the state to stop defecting from one political party to another.

According to him,  “Stay in one place. Don’t run from here to there and from there to here. E no make sense. If you say you dey there (APC), know I am already there. If you go to APC, I am an APC member. If you go to PDP, I am there.

“I am the only person that does anti-party and nothing will happen. Any other person that does anti-party is gone. So, I am representing you in APC while you all stay in PDP. If you like, go and write it on social media.”

Umahi commended President Muhammadu Buhari administration for making Ebonyi the only state in the Southeast to be listed among the states to have a new Federal College of Education.

He told the people of Ishielu local government that the college would not be located in their zone, while promising them a technical school.

The governor who had in the past shared sympathies for Buhari had long been suspected of having sympathies for the APC with the prospect of defecting to the national ruling party.
