It Is Too Early To Talk About Buhari’s Successor Now- Tinubu
The former governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu has urged Nigerians not to take those discussing about presidential zoning in 2023 serious as it too early to start the discussion now.
Tinubu disclosed that the All Progressives Congress, (APC), which won re-election in 2019 is more interested in good governance instead of dissipating energy discussing which zone would produce the next president in 2023,
He described as attempt in futility for any serious minded persons to begin discussion on 2023 when the present administration has not spent up to one year of its second term mandate in office.
He said, “It will be mere restlessness to talk about it now.”
Tinubu also said that any talks about succession plans, for now, should be discarded.
He spoke with State House Correspondents on Tuesday after he visited the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari ( retd.), for a brief meeting.
The former governor of Lagos State is one of the names regularly mentioned as a possible APC presidential candidate in 2023 when power is expected to be zoned to the South.
