UTME: Outrage Over Bottlenecks Getting NIN
By Ayodele Oluwafemi
Prospective candidates for the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB’s 2020 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) have gone to social media to lament difficulties in the process especially the registration for National Identity Number (NIN).
JAMB had earlier announced a partnership with the National Identity Management Commission, NIMC, in order to reduce the rate of impersonating and other related examination malpractices.
Photographs showing prospective candidates in large crowds loitering at NIM registration centers across the country have surfaced on some social media platforms like Twitter and Instagram raising concern.
The development has generated heated debate on Twitter, with many Twitter users lambasting the examination board.
“Omo see crowd??Thank God I’m done with jamb cause this is just unnecessary suffering ???
One of them said he has been here since 5 and he was struggled out of the line. This is bad honestly.” @
