Kate, wife of deceased former Flying Eagles captain Isaac Promise has dismissed claims of abandonment by the Nigerian Football Federation, NFF saying that such claims to be totally unfounded.

Reacting to the reports in an interview, Mrs. Isaac said the NFF and its leadership particularly Amaju Pinnick became a beacon for her in her moments of distress.

“I don’t know where they got it from. Pinnick has been there, I have been talking to him back and forth, he is the one that even gave my contact to the commissioner of sports in Imo State, to help me talk cos when the family was proving difficult I had to send him to speak on my behalf because I am not from their state,” Kate told AIT.

She disclosed that it was particularly because of his involvement that “everything started falling in place.”

The late Promise who captained Nigeria’s male football team to the Beijing Olympics died of suspected heart failure in the United States last October and was buried on Thursday in his hometown, Umudim in Imo State.
