Forged NECO Result: Court Sacks Ifeanyi Ubah From Senate

Chief Ifeanyi Ubah was on Friday sacked by a Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court sitting in the Bwari area of Abuja from the Senate as senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District.

Ubah who was elected on the platform of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) was sacked for purportedly presenting a fake National Examination Council, NECO result to the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

In his place, the court ruled that Dr. Obinna Uzoh of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP be issued with the Certificate of Return as the senator for the senatorial district.

Justice Bello Kawu agreed with Uzoh that Ubah presented a forged National Examination Council (NECO) secondary school certificate to INEC, which enabled him to contest the Anambra South senatorial election.

He also insisted that Ubah’s party should be disqualified because it did not conduct a primary for its candidates in the poll.
