Imo: PDP Should Apologise For Criticising Judgment – Keyamo
By Ayodele Oluwafemi
The Minister of State for Labour and Productivity, Mr. Festus Keyamo, has asked the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP to apologize to Nigerians and the Supreme Court for condemning the Apex Court’s verdict on the Imo governorship election.
Keyamo, during an interview with newsmen, on Wednesday while attending an event in Ughelli, described the PDP reaction on the Supreme Court judgment that removed Emeka Ihedioha as the governor of Imo State, as inciting and irresponsible.
The minister argued that the opposition party refused to draw merit from the decision of the Supreme Court to exclude the ruling party from the elections in Zamfara and Rivers states, before describing the court as a ‘kangaroo court’.
In his words: “PDP is an opposition that takes the benefit from the system; from a particular institution and they don’t want to take the downs from that same institution.
“The same court that gave them victories and excluded us entirely in Rivers State, excluded us entirely in Zamfara State; is that the same kangaroo court?
“How can democrats come out and make such very inciting statement? I think it is an irresponsible statement.
“It doesn’t even deserve a response and they need to apologise to Nigerians and to the Supreme Court; it’s extremely provocative.”
