Adeboye’s Advice On Marriage Stirs Social Media Storm
General Overseer of Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has again been at the center of Twitter controversy, over his admonitions on marriage.
Pastor Adeboye, in a series of tweets on marriage, posted on his official Twitter handle, said he had told one of his sons to fire his secretary over excitement feelings that grew between them.
“One of my sons once told me that he was always excited to resume in the office every Monday because he would get to see his secretary again. I told him to fire her immediately. Nothing and no one is worth your marriage.
“What is a married woman doing on the phone with another man for countless minutes? Why would a married man be spending so much time with another man’s wife? Why would you prefer to discuss intimate issues with your “friend” of the opposite sex instead of your God-given spouse?” he tweeted.
The revered cleric also warned couples to desist from engaging ‘friends’ of the opposite sex on intimate issues that concern them, in order to avoid infidelity.
Many of the Twitter users who reacted to his position disagreed with him on his advice to his son to sack his secretary and render her jobless. They submitted that his son should be able to hold his sexual feelings.
Others took the side of Pastor Adeboye with the argument hinged on the scriptural verse that urged Christians to flee temptations.
